Von Jena nach Cospeda geht es relativ steil bergan durch den Cospedaer Grund. Von Cospeda aus folgt die Tour zunächst dem Radweg "1806" und wendet sich vor der Abfahrt nach Apolda (Ortsausgang Hermstedt) nach rechts. So bleibt man auf der Saaleplatte und kann ohne größere Höhenunterschiede Dornburg und seine malerische Schlösser erreichen. Dann steil bergab und in Dorndorf auf den Saaleradweg nach Jena.
