Start am Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt. Von dort zunächst durch den Hafentunnel und dann entlang des Messegeländes zum Westbahnhof. Durch das ehemalige BUGA-Gelände in Eschersheim an die Nidda. In Bonames über den früheren Flugplatz gelangt man entlang eines Golfplatzes zum Frischezentrum Frankfurt. Durchs Feld geht es dann nach Bad Homburg v.d.H. Dort beginnt dann am Gotischen Haus der lange Anstieg zum Sandplacken. Die gewählte Route ist sicherlich fahrerisch nicht so anspruchsvoll, fürs Frühjahr aber durchaus angemessen. Oben angekommen kann man sich wappnen für eine lange Abfahrt nach Neu-Anspach. Dort angekommen beginnt dann allerdings so langsam aber sicher der Sturm auf den Gipfel des Wintersteingebietes, den Steinkopf. Auf zunächst mäßig ansteigenden Wegen geht es ab dem Bundeswehrdepot in Richtung Kapersburg mächtiger zur Sache. Angekommen auf dem Steinkopf ist der Rest der Strecke nur noch Abfahrtsvergnügen. Im Sauseschritt erreicht man über Ockstadt das Ziel in Friedberg.
