Wer auf 44 km und ca. 1100 hm alles sucht, was MTB schön und heftig macht, kann es in dieser Tour im Ossiacher Tauern finden. Du fährst (bei trockenem Wetter) los in Alt Ossiach an der Seestraße östlich und kommst in eine schönen, fein-weiß-geschotterte Auffahrt. Wenn Du an der von mir (dümmlicherweise) genommenen Abkürzung auf eine linksseitige Steilauffahrt verzichtest (und die danach folgende Schiebestelle) fährst Du einfach am Hauptweg weiter und nimmst die nächste breite Abzweigung links. Du stößt dann nach ca. 10 Min wieder auf die Tour. Die geht immer noch gemütlich weiter auf den Tauern, an einem Gut vorbei und dann auf Asphalt bis zu einer Passhöhe. Dort kommt dann eine schöne, lange, immer wieder von kurzen Aufstiegen unterbrochene Abfahrt. Vor dem Örtchen Zauchen endet der beschauliche Teil der Tour. Nun beginnt eine zunächst noch breite, dann immer mehr in einen Wanderweg übergehende Auffahrt. Wenn Du glaubst, oben zu sein, geht es erst richtig los. Nun werden Deine Beine, Dämpfer und Bremsen auf harte Proben gestellt. Felspassagen wechseln mit Schlamm, Sand geht in schmale Wegrinnen über und immer wieder freust Du Dich über glatte Baumwurzeln in alle Richtungen. Absteigen lässt sich da und dort nicht vermeiden. Kopfschüttelnde Wanderer haben Recht: hier mountainbiken ist schwer verständlich (zu machen). Andererseits siehst Du sehr schöne Natur und Ausblicke in alle Richtungen, häufig über den See und immer wieder in die Almen, Wiesen und Wälder. Als Abschluss bekommst Du noch die 11 Asphalt-Kehren nach Ossiach hinunter und kannst nicht glauben, dass das NUR gut 1100 hm waren.

You're driving (in dry weather) going on in Old Ossiach on the lake road east and come in a beautiful, fine-white-gravelled driveway. There then comes a nice, long, repeatedly interrupted by short climbs departure. Before the village Zauchen ends of the contemplative part of the tour. Now an initially wide, then more and more merging into a trail driveway begins. If you believe to be the top, it goes really starts. Now your legs, dampers and brakes are found on hard samples. Rock passages alternate with mud, sand goes into narrow track channel and time again you looking forward to over smooth tree roots in all directions. Descent can not be avoided here and there. Head-shaking walkers are right: mountain biking here is difficult to understand (to make). On the other hand, you look very beautiful nature and views in all directions, often over the lake and over again in the pastures, meadows and forests. As a conclusion you get even the 11 asphalt Return to Ossiach down and can not believe that the ONLY were over 1100 hm.
