Partenza da Abbadia Lariana andiamo a Lecco su un supertrada non molto bella (i 6km più pericolosi del giro.... molto bravo l'ingegnere che ai tempi l'ha progettata...) arrivati a Lecco saliamo a Ballabio sulla vecchia strada che porta in valsassina (volendo c'è la variante di Montalbano più lunga e faticosa ma priva di traffico), da Ballabio salita ai Piani dei Resinelli con i suoi 14 tornanti.
discesa:
lasciamo il rifugio e iniziamo a scendere sulla asfaltata, la lasceremo per entrare in un bosco e cercare un sentiero molto intuitivo (ma c'è la traccia e andate tranaquilli), una volta preso e trovato il sentiero non lo lasciamo più, ci sono varie deviazioni ma se stiamo in traccia non sbagliamo.... è un 12 (n° del sentiero) perfetto..

la traccia finisce ad un Lido dove si può bere birra, ma non alla spina.... per ritrovare la macchina non dovete che risalire sulla strada statale e andare in direzione Lecco uscita dalla superstrada Lecco Colico in direzione Mandello, appena fuori dalla galleria c'è un posteggio
