Procedere lungo la strada Provinciale 30 sempre il leggera e graduale salita in asfalto.Superare il paese di San Marco di Preturo fino a raggiungere dopo circa 3 kilometri il paese Santi.Per la partenza del nostro sentiero all'entrata di Santi denere sempre la sx costeggiando il campo di golf 'San Donato' che è alla nostra sx.A metà del campo di golf c'è una strada dapprima asfaltata e successivamente sterrata che taglia il campo da golf.La mulattiera dapprima è molto curata in quanto attraversa il campo da golf successivamente dopo il cancello (richiuderlo) diventa meno battuta.Dall'inizio della strada asfaltata (833 mt) fino alla Fonte dell'Orso (1024 mt)la salita è molto ripida , in poco meno di 1 km si fanno 20 mt di dislivello con pendenza del 26%.Da Fonte dell'Orso scendere seguendo la stessa strada.
