This was a scoping ride of a long hidden Rail Trail between Blackheath and Mt Victoria, Blue Mountains, NSW. TheBlackheath to Mt. Victoria is a unique Rail Trail that has remained isolated intime and detached from progress and development for over 115 years. It not onlyoffers a fantastic opportunity to see back in time to the early engineering andpioneering development of the area, but also further back in time to the firstAustralians to also share in their history of the region delivering a dynamicvisitor experience. Combinedwith this history are the splendid uninterrupted picturesque views within thisworld Heritage Area and of the beautiful Kanimbla Valley below. Innovativeopportunities to develop tourism and grow employment are greatly needed in ourregion and the Blackheath to Mt. Victoria Rail Trail will provide a positivereturn on investment through the delivery of funds and grants on this veryspecial Rail Trial.We are engaging Rail Corp, Ministry of Transport and Blue Mountains City Council to open this to the public.
